Port of Bordeaux & the Gironde Estuary
The Port of Bordeaux, managed as Bordeaux Atlantique, operates multiple terminals along the Garonne and in the Gironde estuary, including Bassens (agribulk, containers), Le Verdon (Brittany Ferries, general cargo), Ambès (petroleum products), and Blaye (agribulk). The Gironde estuary — France's largest — is navigated regularly by tankers, bulkers, and container feeders. Tidal windows and restricted depths add operational complexity, making professional on-site survey coverage particularly important.
